15.4 Audit Log Protection

The system writes two forms of audit logs.

  • Physical File – Logs are stored as plain text files in the data folder, with access restricted to the system account only. The storage is protected using full disk encryption to prevent unauthorized access or tampering.

  • Scribbler Audit Storage – A copy of the audit logs is forwarded to Scribbler’s dedicated audit storage, which is a write-once medium where logs, once saved, cannot be altered. The underlying storage is protected with full disk encryption.
